The medical team at the Ophthalmology Department of Beni Suef University Hospitals has achieved a new medical milestone by successfully performing a delicate corneal transplantation procedure.

Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, and Dr. Hany Hamed, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board, and under the supervision of Dr. Emad El-Banna, Chief Executive Officer of Beni Suef University Hospitals, the Ophthalmology Department at Beni Suef University Hospitals achieved a new medical milestone with the successful performance of a delicate corneal transplantation procedure.
The surgery was performed on a young man in his thirties who had been suffering from severe visual impairment caused by keratoconus, a condition that significantly affected his ability to carry out his daily activities. The medical team successfully restored the patient's vision, enabling him to resume his normal life.
This achievement reflects the advanced level attained by the Department of Ophthalmology and its ability to manage complex and highly specialized cases with exceptional competence. It also highlights the ongoing commitment of Beni Suef University Hospitals to providing the highest standards of healthcare services to the residents of Beni Suef Governorate and Upper Egypt.
The procedure was carried out by a distinguished medical team led by Dr. Hossam El-Din Khalil, Head of the Department. The surgical team included Dr. Mostafa Abdel Nabi, Dr. Khaled Salah, and Dr. Amira Hussein.
The anesthesia team consisted of Dr. Doaa Aboul Qassem, Dr. Kyrillos Mounir, Dr. Heba Samir, and Dr. Abdelrahman Hassan.
