Faculty of Medicine, Beni-Suef University Celebrates an Outstanding Scientific Day for the Defense of an Innovative Master's Thesis
Under the patronage of Professor Tarek Ali, President of Beni-Suef University, the Faculty of Medicine and the Department of Neurophysiology organized a distinguished scientific day. The event was sponsored by Professor Hany Hamed Desouky, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board, and was attended by:
• Professor Nevin Mohamed El-Fayoumi, Professor of Neurophysiology, Faculty of Medicine, Kasr Al-Ainy, Cairo University, serving as the External Examiner.
• Professor Emad El-Banna, Chairman of the Beni-Suef Medical Syndicate and Executive Director of Beni-Suef University Hospitals.
The scientific event was dedicated to the defense of the Master's thesis submitted by Dr. Hadeel Abdel Hakim Anwar, entitled:
“Brain Training Using Neurofeedback Technology and Its Impact on Improving Cognitive Functions in a Group of Healthy Adults.”
The thesis was supervised by a distinguished team of academics:
• Dr. Mostafa Mahmoud El-Khouly, Associate Professor of Neurophysiology.
• Dr. Saeed Ramadan Khodeir, Professor of Experimental Psychology, Faculty of Arts.
• Dr. Reem Mohamed Sabry, Lecturer of Neurophysiology, Faculty of Medicine, Beni-Suef University.
A Distinguished Scientific Achievement Through a Unique Device
The Neurofeedback System available at the Faculty of Medicine, Beni-Suef University, is considered one of the few specialized devices of its kind among Egyptian universities. International research has demonstrated its effectiveness in the management and treatment of a variety of neurological and psychological disorders, including:
• Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
• Schizophrenia
• Sleep Disorders
• Various other neurological and psychiatric conditions
Over recent years, several scientific theses have been successfully completed using this advanced technology. Furthermore, a major research project funded by Beni-Suef University is expected to be launched in the near future utilizing this unique system, under the participation of Dr. Mostafa Mahmoud El-Khouly and a multidisciplinary team of researchers from various university faculties.
